So you want to request a layout? Why, I'm honored, to be truthful. Also, though, I am wary. There is really only one rule when it comes to requesting a layout: I'm taking time out of my life, to help you, for free, and you need to respect me for that. Heck, the layout may not turn out just the way you want it, but when I say enough is enough, and that I've tried my best and am sick of it, you need to either take the layout, or leave it. Either way, it's over; accept it and move on. If you offer to pay for the layout, or donate some money, then things may turn out differently. However, I don't expect that anyone will do that any time soon.
Some other guidelines to consider:
[+] You must wait at least three months between having a request filled (even if you didn't like the end result) and requesting another layout. Any requests in between will simply be ignored.
[+] If you do not use a layout I made for you, you will most likely never be allowed to request a layout again. If a request between friends just didn't work out, though, or something to that effect, no harm done. Remember, dear visitor, there are _always_ exceptions. The layout you chose not to use will simply be put up as linkware, to ease my pissed-off-ness.
[+] I have the utmost right to not accept a request, and even, if I am so inclined, to cancel it midway. I am the webmaster, I am my own person, this is a mere hobby, and what I say goes. If you choose to flame me or stalk me or something silly like that, I really will just have to laugh. It's just a videogame series and its fans, people!
[+] You don't have to have a site in order to request a layout. You do, though, have to be working on creating a site, which would constitute you as a new webmaster. And I'm trying to help out new webmasters here.
[+] Div layouts only. You can request what kind of style, though. Go web standards! <(^-^)>
[+] Consider anything else that I might want to throw at ya. Just cause it ain't here (nuu, I used "ain't"! >.<!), doesn't mean I can't throw it at ya!
To request a layout, with the following form, filled out in great detail:
Your (Nick)Name:
Your E-mail Address (yes, I know, but include it anyway!):
Your Site Name (if applicable):
Your Site URL (if applicable):
Theme of Layout (in a few words only, please!):
Description of Layout (at least a few sentences, please!):
URL(s) of image(s) you would like used (if any):
Div Style (Layers, Tables, Frame-Like Menu, or Frame-Like Content):
Number of Columns (if you're not sure, just make sure your description includes a bit about the way the content and menu look):
Here's an example form for you to peruse:
Your Nickname: Akira
Your E-mail Address:
Your Site Name: The Written Legend
Your Site URL: http://writtenlegend.net/
Theme of Layout: Fire and Ice
Description of Layout: I would like a layout that strongly and boldly contrasts the elements of fire and ice. The content should be fairly wide and on the left side, and the one-column menu should be just to the right of that. The whole deal should not be fluid, yet should fit resolutions of 800x600 and up.
URL of image you would like used: http://writtenlegend.net/akira.jpg
Div Style: Layers
Number of Columns: Two
[+] It's images you would like used, not that must be included. I usually attempt to center the layout around the images (after the theme), but sometimes the images must bend to the will of the almighty layout!
[+] This form is only the first step of the process. It will, however, probably be the one thing that decides whether your request is fulfilled or not. There's no questionnaire to fill out, or anything like that, so don't be frightened! Also, I may accept your request, but put it on hold, due to how busy life can become. Either way, creating your perfect layout may be a one-step wonder, or it may require a flurry of e-mails between us. Be prepared, is all.
